Release: 04/26/2012 WILMINGTON, North Carolina - UNCW heads to the city of brotherly love this weekend when it competes at the prestigious Penn Relays on Apr. 26-28. The meet will be the final warm up for some of the Seahawk athletes as they prepare for the Colonial Athletic Association Championship in Fairfax, Va., on May 4-5. Heading to the meet will be the women's sprint medley relay of Krista Mangum, Meena Reid, Sara Bowen and Becky Boulay. The quartet enters the meet looking to top the team's season-best time of 4:00.67, set earlier this month at the Florida Relays. The Seahawk men will also be represented in the relays with the 4x800 relay of Connor Brooks, Bob Vanderham, Ryan O'Connor and Wil Zahorodny. UNCW's 4x800 relay in 2011 set a school record at the Penn Relays with a time of 7:26.15. Only Vanderham and Zahorodny return from the record-setting squad. Also representing the Seahawks in the meet are Jeremy Johnson (100m), Aerial Chatman (Triple Jump), Brad Hollowell (Pole Vault) and Cam Walton (Long Jump). |
