WILMINGTON, North Carolina - Senior Jordan Daywalt continued her tremendous outdoor season last week with a school record in the Pole Vault and was named Colonial Athletic Association Field Athlete-of-the-Week for her efforts.
Daywalt vaulted a height of 12-9 1/2 feet to finish second in the event at the Pepsi Florida Relays on April 6. She bested her previous season-best mark of 12-4 at the Beynon Sports Catamount Classic on March 24.
Her second-place finish was also her fifth top-three finish of the season. Daywalt won the Pole Vault at the UNCW Seahawk Invitational and the Beynon Sports Catamount Classic.
Entering the 2012 outdoor season, Daywalt ranked third on UNCW's all-time list with a mark of 12-1 1/2 set in 2011 at the Winthrop Invitational.
Daywalt broke Annie Powell's standard of 12-8, set just last year at the CAA Championships.
Daywalt and the Seahawks return to action this weekend on April 14 at the Coastal Carolina Classic in Conway, S.C.
