LEESBURG, Va. - The UNCW men finished fourth and the women came in fifth place at the George Mason Cross Country Invitational early Saturday at the Oatlands Plantation.

      Seniors Wil Zahorodny (Damascus HS/Damascus, Md. )  and Erin Brennan (North Kingstown HS/Jamestown, R.I.) paced the teams for the fourth consecutive race as the Seahawks continued to tune up for the Colonial Athletic Association Championships in four weeks.

      Zahorodny covered the men's 8k course in 26:30, good enough for 11^th place in the 76-man field. Brennan placed fifth in the women's 6k competition with a time of 23:38 as the Seahawks finished fifth out of eight teams on the women's side.

      The teams next compete in the Blue Ridge Open in Boone, N.C., on Oct. 14 before the CAA meet at the end of the month in Hampton, Ga.
