WILMINGTON, North Carolina - Sophomore runner Rachel Quinn of UNCW has been named the Colonial Athletic Association's Runner-of-the-Week after pacing the team in last week's Seahawk Invitational.
Quinn, from Haddon Heights, N.J., finished sixth out of 37 runners in the event with a time of 18:57 over the 5K course.
"We're very happy for Rachel," said assistant cross country/track and field coach Layne Schwier. "She is very deserving of this honor because she has put in a lot of hard work and asserted herself as the frontrunner of our team. She returned to campus in great shape and is poised to have a breakout season."
The Seahawks return to action on Saturday when they compete in the William & Mary Invitational in Williamsburg, Va.
