WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNC Wilmington men’s soccer coach Aidan Heaney has announced that the Seahawks and Wilmington Hammerheads are teaming up to raise money for the New Hanover County Relay for Life with an exhibition soccer game Apr. 19 at the UNCW Soccer Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.

“What better way to help the people we love by doing something we love,” said Heaney. “We hope there will be a great turnout to help us raise funds and awareness for Relay for Life.”

The Hammerheads are playing their final exhibition game before opening the season Apr. 26 at Bermuda. “I think it's great for us to be involved in anything in the community, especially when a soccer game can contribute to such a great cause,” said Hammerheads skipper David Irving.

Tickets for the event are $5 each, with children ages 12-under free. Tickets may be purchased at the ticket offices of both teams as well as at the gate. Players on both teams will also conduct a clinic for kids at 5:30 p.m.
