Women's Soccer

Anna Betton is in her first season as a volunteer assistant with the UNCW women’s soccer program. She will assist in all day-to-day facets of the Head Coach Paul Cairney’s program.

Betton moved to the Port City in December 2011 to serve as the Director of Recreation for the Cape Fear Soccer Club after three seasons as an assistant/graduate assistant coach at Western Carolina. She is currently enrolled in classes at UNCW to attain her North Carolina teaching certification and remains active in CFSC as a coach. 

A two-time All-Conference and All-Tournament Team honoree at Furman, Betton led the Paladins to the 2007 Southern Conference Tournament Championship after pacing the league in scoring with 36 points (13 G, 10 A) on her way to earn SoCon Player-of-the-Year accolades.  Betton finished her career ranked sixth on Furman's all-time goals chart (32) and seventh in career points (83).

Upon graduation, Betton began her coaching career as an assistant coach at Lees-Mcrae College in Banner Elk, N.C. before joining the Catamounts program in 2009.

A native of Greensboro, N.C., Betton received her bachelor’s of science degree in Communication Studies from Furman and earned her Master’s Degree in Physical Education from Western Carolina.
