WILMINGTON, North Carolina - UNCW head coach Aidan Heaney has released the Seahawks' spring schedule of five matches, including two against NASL member Carolina RailHawks and the USL's Wilmington Hammerheads.

"We try to set up as challenging a schedule as possible so we can stretch and test our players," said Heaney. "While we're always looking for good results; we're more interested in seeing our players develop. With that being said, we have some very talented opponents this spring and will be tested every time we step on the field."

The slate begins on March 7, when the Seahawks head up I40 for a 7 p.m. match up against the NASL regular season champions Carolina RailHawks. UNCW's second test against the professional level will be on Mar. 27, when they host the Hammerheads. The Hammerheads were the USL's Rookie Franchise-of-the-Year in 2011.

The Seahawks return to collegiate competition on Mar. 31, at the Manchester Cup in Rock Hill, S.C. UNCW will take on Furman and South Carolina at the highly competitive tournament.

To close out the collegiate portion of the schedule, the Seahawks host UNC Pembroke on April 10 at the UNCW Soccer Stadium.
