WILMINGTON, North Carolina - UNCW seniors Brandon Miller and Daniel Roberts were named to the Colonial Athletic Association all-conference teams on Wednesday at the league's post season awards banquet in Harrisonburg, Va.
"I'm delighted for Brandon and Daniel," said UNCW Head Coach Aidan Heaney. "They both have invested a lot of time in becoming better players and to see them be rewarded for it is a pleasure to see. They've been tremendous people in our program and have represented the program and university in fine fashion during their careers."
Miller became the third goalkeeper during Head Coach Aidan Heaney's tenure to earn All-CAA honors after being named to the first-team. In his first season as the starter, Miller recorded three shutouts and posted a .694 save average with 68 saves.
Roberts, a preseason All-CAA selection, earned a spot on the second team at midfield. Despite fighting through an injury-plagued senior season, Roberts finished with a goal and team-leading five assists in 12 games.
The league's championship tournament opens on Thursday at host James Madison with William & Mary taking on Georgia State at 5 p.m. and Delaware and Northeastern at 7:30 p.m. JMU earned the top-seed while Old Dominion enters the tournament as the second seed.
