TOWSON, Maryland - Thomas Driver netted his third goal of the season for UNCW, but it was a strike from Towson's Phil Martinelli in the 64th minute that lifted the host Tigers to a 2-1 win over the Seahawks on Saturday in Colonial Athletic Association men's soccer action.

The Tigers improved to 2-10-1 overall and 1-7 in the league. The Seahawks, who saw their winless streak stretched to six with the road loss, dropped to 1-7-1 and 3-11-1.

With the loss, the Seahawks have been eliminated from qualifying for the CAA championship tournament.

Following a scoreless first half, Towson jumped in front in the 49th minute on a goal by Olakunle Banjo, his fourth of the season.

The Seahawks, however, responded less than a minute later, 54 seconds, to draw even at 1-all on junior Thomas Driver's third goal of the season. Freshman Jacob VanCompernolle was credited with an assist on the play.

UNCW's Brandon Miller was called upon to make six saves on the match as Towson outshot the Seahawks, 15-9. TU's John Steele finished with two stops.

UNCW hosts Delaware on Oct. 29, in a 7 p.m. kickoff.
