ATLANTA, Georgia - Caleb Kernan struck for the game's lone goal in the 6th minute as Georgia State topped UNCW, 1-0, in a Colonial Athletic Association men's soccer game on Wednesday at Panthersville. The Panthers improved to 9-3-1 overall and 3-2 in the league. The Seahawks, meanwhile, saw their overall record fall to 3-9 and 1-5 in the CAA with their third straight loss. It is UNCW's third three-game losing skid of the season. "It was an even game after GSU scored the only goal," said UNCW Head Coach Aidan Heaney. "We played hard, but have to find a way to one and build upon it." Kernan finished off an attack that started with a cross from Bo Stroup to Stephen McGill, who found an open Kernan for the goal at the 5:27 mark. Georgia State outshot UNCW, 15-10, but trailed in corner kicks, 9-7. GSU goalkeeper Vincent Foermer made four saves in the shutout while Brandon Miller collected three for the Seahawks.
