Sophomore Etienne Boulanger gave UNCW a 1-0 lead in the 53rd minute off an assist from junior Shawn Guderian.

UNCW goalkeeper Brock Duckworth was tested on the evening and finished with six saves. GMU outshot the Seahawks, 22-9, including an 8-2 advantage in the first half.
