WILMINGTON, North Carolina - UNCW celebrates Senior Night this Saturday when it honors its 12 seniors and hosts high-scoring Towson in a men's soccer game at 7 p.m.
The Seahawks look to get back into the win and scoring columns as the season hits the stretch run. UNCW enters the game in second place, four points behind conference leader William & Mary.
UNCW (7-4-3, 3-1-3 CAA) has fashioned three straight scoreless draws, the latest on Wednesday at VCU. The Seahawks have not found the back of the net in the last 449 minutes since Etienne Boulanger's game-winner against James Madison on Oct. 6.
Towson (8-4-1, 2-4-1 CAA) entered the week ranked among the nation's leading scoring squads at 2.42 goals per game, ranking seventh. The Tigers upended visiting Northeastern, 2-1, on Wednesday.
While the Seahawks haven't been able to score, the defense has stepped up in fine fashion with three clean sheets of its own. Junior Brandon Miller has drawn the starting assignment the last two games and has responded with 16 saves, including a career-high 12 at Northeastern, and his first two shutouts of the season.
Saturday's match will be the final regular season home game for the Seahawks before they embark on a season-ending three-game road swing beginning on Oct. 27, at William & Mary.
