WILMINGTON, North Carolina – The Seahawks return to conference play this weekend looking to build off their biggest win of the season to date after topping 11th-ranked UNC Chapel Hill earlier in the week..

UNCW has its work cut out when they visit high-scoring Delaware on Saturday for a 7 p.m. kickoff at the UC Mini-Stadium.

Jordan Cordero proved to be the difference against the Tar Heels as his first career goal was the game’s lone tally in UNCW’s 1-0 win over their in-state rivals. Cordero had just entered the game as a substitution before finding himself open on the right side on a deflected free kick.

Freshman Sean Melvin made his first start since late September and responded with a four-save shutout, his second of the season.

Delaware, meanwhile, enters the match looking to shake a two-game losing skid following setbacks to Drexel and Northeastern.

The Blue Hens trail the all-time series, 8-3, but have won the last three games against UNCW, including a 1-0 win in Newark last fall.

The Seahawks close out the regular season with home games against William & Mary (Nov. 2) and Northeastern (Nov. 6).

UNCW needs a win or a Col of Charleston tie or loss to clinch a CAA tournament berth.
