Release: 09/18/2012 UNCW Men's Soccer report Record: 2-4-1 (0-0-0 CAA) Last week's results: 9/14 Saint Mary's, L 1-0 [Story | Photo gallery]; 9/16 Binghamton, L 3-2 [Story | Photo gallery] This week's schedule: 9/22 at George Mason, 7 p.m. [Live Stats | Live Video] Player/Rookie-of-the-Week Nominee: Colin Bonner, Forward, Freshman (Fulton, Md./Reservoir) - Bonner scored twice in UNCW's last-second loss to Binghamton. The freshman came off the bench midway through the first half and scored his first collegiate goal to tie the game for the Seahawks. Late in the game he was able to forge another tie when he forced a turnover and converted a breakaway in the 81st minute. Notes: The Seahawks dropped both of their games at the UNCW/Hilton Garden Inn Classic ... Both were one-goal differences ... Bonner became the seventh Seahawk to score this season and moved into a tie with Jamie Dell for the team lead with two ... UNCW opens conference play this weekend when it heads to George Mason on Sept. 22, for a 7 p.m. start ... The Seahawks have won their last three against the Patriots, including a 4-2 win in the season finale in 2011 ... 16 Seahawks who are either freshmen or sophomores have played in a game this season. |
