GREENVILLE, North Carolina – Senior Lori Beth Adams carded a two-over-par 74 to lead the UNCW women’s golf team in the final round of the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate Tuesday at the Greenville Country Club.

Adams (76-77-74=227) finished the 54-hole tournament part of a six-way tie for 15th at 11-over-par. Junior Mallory Warrick (77-80-80=237) ended the event in a tie for 47th while senior Laverry Kumar (80-81-81=242) finished in 65th place. Senior Megan Burnham (85-80-83=248) and sophomore Elizabeth Hall (79-84-85=248) were both part of a tie for 79th. Senior Jeanne Metivier (84-79-85=248), competing as an individual entry, also finished in a tie for 79th.

 The Seahawks (312-318-318=948) posted a team total 318 for the second straight round and finished in a tie for 14th place with Longwood (326-219-303=948).

East Tennessee State (288-308-301=897) led wire-to-wire as it captured the team title with a four-shot victory over second-place Middle Tennessee State (309-289-303=901). Host East Carolina (295-302-307=904) took third while Georgia State (306-299-303=908) finished fourth and Old Dominion (299-300-310=909) claimed fifth.

Middle Tennessee State’s Avery George (75-67-73=215) took home individual medalist honors with a three-stroke victory over Longwood’s Amanda Steinhagen (73-77-68=218). Chattanooga’s Jordan Britt (72-71-76=219) and Maryland’s Juliet Vongphoumy (73-72-74=219) finished tied for third.

UNCW completes the fall portion of its 2013-14 schedule Oct. 25-27 when it hosts the 2013 Landfall Tradition at the Country Club of Landfall.
