WILMINGTON, North Carolina - UNCW senior Carly Tanner set a pool record with a time of 23.06 seconds in the 50-yard Freestyle to lead UNCW on Saturday at the Seahawk Invitational. Tanner's time was also bested her own conference-leading time, which was 23.25 recorded earlier this season. Also winning events were freshman Jenson Engen in the 100 Breaststroke (1:06.34) and fellow rookie Catherine Gargula in the 100 Backstroke (1:00.08). In diving, UNCW's Amanda MacCreery won the 1-meter board with a score of 249 points. The Invitational concludes on Sunday with preliminaries at 10 a.m. and the finals at 4 p.m. at the Seahawk Natatorium. |
