WILMINGTON, North Carolina – The UNCW women’s golf program returns to the links this week when it travels to the Midwest for the Windy City Collegiate Classic at the Northmoor Country Club.

Hosted by Northwestern, the 54-hole event will take place on the par 71, 6,108-yard layout of the Northmoor Country Club, who is hosting the event for the first time since the 2010 edition of the tournament. The 15-team field will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday with action on both days starting at 8:30 a.m. ET. Players will be grouped in three-player waves in a split-start format, beginning each round from the No. 1 and No. 10 tees.

UNCW once again finds themselves part of a talented tournament field that features seven teams that qualified for the 2013 National Championship and nine squads currently ranked in the top 25 of the Golfstat rankings. Defending National Champion and No. 2 ranked USC highlights the field while perennial powers Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Northwestern, Oklahoma State, Purdue and Stanford will also tee it up at Northmoor Country Club.  Brown, Iowa State, Louisville, Minnesota, Ohio State and TCU round out the tournament lineup.

Senior Lori Beth Adams will once again anchor the Seahawks lineup in the Windy City Collegiate Classic. Adams opened the 2013-14 campaign with a 10th place in the Lady Paladin Invitational last weekend, posting a one-over-par tournament scorecard that featured two sub-par rounds.

Fellow seniors Laverry Kumar and Megan Burnham and junior Mallory Warrick are all back in the lineup for veteran coach Cindy Ho while senior Jeanne Metivier will make her season debut in the Windy City Collegiate Classic.

Following its visit to the Windy City, UNCW is back in action Oct. 7-8 in the ECU Lady Pirate Intercollegiate at the Greenville Country Club.
