WILMINGTON, North Carolina - UNCW junior Lori Beth Adams was named the Colonial Athletic Association Co-Women's Golfer-of-the-Week on Wednesday.

Adams, who shared the award with Xavier's Shane Crutchfield, was recognized for the fourth time this season after earning the award on February 28 and twice during the fall portion of UNCW's schedule (Sept. 19 and Oct. 10).

A native of Burlington, N.C., Adams posted her third top-five finish of the season with a fifth-place result at the JMU Eagle Landing Invitational with a 75-73-69=217 scorecard on the par 72, 6,282 yard layout of the Eagle Landing Course in Orange Park, Fla. Adams, who was named to the All-Tournament team, carded a career-low 69 in the final round to help UNCW to a 12th place finish at the tournament.

"Lori Beth had another consistent performance last week at the JMU Eagle Landing Invitational," said UNCW Head Coach Cindy Ho. "I am very proud of how she battled back from the 75 the first round.  Her ball striking was solid as she hit between 12-14 greens each day. She just wasn't able to convert any of her birdie chances the first day but she started getting more comfortable on the greens on the back nine of the second round and then finished with her career low round the final day to move up the leader board. Her game has really matured and she is so mentally tough which gives her a lot of confidence right now."

UNCW returns to action March 22-24 in the LSU Tiger Classic at The University Club in Baton Rouge, La.
