WILMINGTON, North Carolina - UNCW Athletics has launched a new social media offering, Instagram, designed to provide supporters and followers timely and unique photographic insight into all 19 of the Seahawk sports teams.

     Instagram is a free photo-sharing program that allows users to shoot a square-shaped photo, apply a digital filter if desired and share it on various social networking sites. The photos can be viewed on iPhone, iPad, iTouch and Android smartphones.

     Fans can find the UNCW Athletics site by downloading Instagram and following uncwseahawksnaps.

     Social media giant Facebook acquired Instagram in April.
