Release: 10/10/2012 WILMINGTON, North Carolina - With the clock ticking down to Midnite Madness, UNCW basketball fans gathered at Buffalo Wild Wings on Old Eastwood Road during Wednesday's lunch hour to hear comments from Buzz Peterson and Adell Harris on the state of the school's programs heading into the 2012-13 season. Addressing a crowd of nearly 100 at the annual Tip-Off Luncheon, Peterson spoke for several minutes, delivered capsules on his players, and answered questions from Seahawk Nation on the talented mix of veterans and newcomers. He enters his third campaign after moving to the coast from Appalachian State in the summer of 2010. Harris, meanwhile, made her first appearance at the function and enjoyed the moment, saying she hopes to continue the upward trajectory of the program that has resulted in back-to-back WNIT berths. The former Wake Forest point guard was named head coach this past summer. Both teams greet the public late Friday when Midnite Madness takes place at Trask Coliseum. The event is free and begins at 9:30 p.m. |
