(This is the sixth in a series of capsules highlighting the successful 2011-12 sports season at UNCW)

      The boys of summer turned up the heat in late spring as UNCW dominated the CAA regular season and rolled to its fourth conference baseball championship under veteran skipper Mark Scalf. The Seahawks captured the regular season title by four games and rallied past Delaware in the CAA title game to advance to the NCAA Regionals for the fifth time. The Seahawks landed a record 11 players on the All-CAA team and several players earned other honors as the team went 39-23 overall.
