WILMINGTON, North Carolina – The Seahawks head up I40 on Saturday for a trio of dual meets against Florida State, Virginia Tech and host Duke. The meet begins at 2 p.m. at the Taishoff Aquatic Pavilion. UNCW’s men’s team while face some stiff competition in nationally-ranked Florida State and Duke and Virginia Tech finished among the top-20 last season at the NCAA national championship meet. The Seahawks enter the dual meets with a record of 2-1 following a win at Emory last weekend. Leading the charge for the Seahawk
men is CAA Swimmer-of-the-Week Valtteri Halonen. The sophomore from Finland
has won three or more races in each of his last two meets and ranks second in
the league in the 100 and 200 Backstroke events. The Seahawks return to conference action the following weekend with a pod meet hosted by Delaware. UNCW will compete against William & Mary, James Madison (women) and the host Blue Hens in the two-day competition that begins at 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 3. |
