WILMINGTON, North Carolina - UNCW sophomore standout Valtteri Halonen was named Colonial Athletic Association swimmer-of-the-week on Tuesday after leading the Seahawks past Emory in non-conference action.

Halonen posted his second consecutive meet with at least three wins as he won both Backstroke events and swam the leadoff leg of the winning 200 Medley Relay.  His time in the 100 is second fastest in the CAA this season as is his mark in the 200 Backstroke.

The Finnish international is the second Seahawk to earn the men's award, joining senior Michael Williams who won the award earlier this month.

The Seahawks visit Duke on Saturday where they'll face ACC members Florida State and Virginia Tech in addition to the Blue Devils.
