WILMINGTON, North Carolina - With the Olympics just weeks away from opening in London, England, the United States is in the midst of its final qualifying meets, including swimming, which begins this week at the CenturyLink Center in Omaha, Neb.

UNCW is represented at the Trials with former Seahawk Anna Munger joining current swimmers, Alex Aguilar, C.J. Fiala and Stephen Conrad, who are all looking to gain a spot on the final Olympic squad.

"We're excited for our athletes this week as they compete against the best the United States has to offer," said UNCW Head Coach Dave Allen. "Each of these swimmers came into the program and worked to get into this position to represent the program, UNCW and hopefully the country. We're proud of what they've accomplished."

Munger, who capped a brilliant career at UNCW this last spring, opened the meet for UNCW competing in the 100 Butterfly on Monday and finished 119th with a time of 1:02.74.

Also competing in the 100 Fly is Conrad, who will race on Saturday, June 30.

Seahawk sprinters Alex Aguilar and C.J. Fiala will swim in the 50 meter Freestyle, which also is slated for Saturday.

The last Seahawk to compete in the Trials was Dan Gallagher in 2004, when he finished sixth overall in the 50 meter Freestyle
