“UNCW offers so many things to the Wilmington community, which is why it is important for us to rally behind the university and support their students and programs," said Pete Hexter of BRAX. “We are creating a unique opportunity for the public to get involved in that effort in a simple way."
Port City Java CEO Steve Schnitzler echoed Hexter’s vision of the partnership between UNCW, BRAX and Port City Java.
“Port City Java was pleased to open a location on UNCW's campus and this is just another way to show our support for the university and its student-athletes. The university is an important part of our community and culture and we are committed to doing everything we can to strengthen the bonds between our two great Wilmington institutions.”
The Seahawk Club strives to provide scholarships for approximately 360 student-athletes each year. In the past year, UNCW athletic teams have averaged a 3.12 GPA, have contributed 2,045 hours of community service and have achieved much athletic success.
