WILMINGTON, North Carolina - UNCW has partnered with BRAX Fundraising and Port City Java (PCJ) to create a new travel mug that will benefit student-athlete scholarships, the University announced today. Beginning January 31, participating PCJ locations will sell a limited number of UNCW travel mugs for $10, which will include a complimentary cup of coffee and a $.25 lifetime discount on future PCJ purchases.

Spearheaded by UNCW Athletics, the partnership will offer a portion of the proceeds to support the Seahawk Club’s mission to strengthen and develop UNCW’s athletic scholarships and the improvement of facilities.

Here are the locations that are carrying the cups: Randall Library-UNCW; 21 North Front Street, Wilmington, NC 28401; 1900 Eastwood Road, Wilmington, NC 28403; 2301 17th Street, Suite A, Wil...mington, NC; 2512 Independence Boulevard, Wilmington, NC 28403; 5917 Oleander Drive, Wilmington, NC 28403; 8211 Market Street, Wilmington, NC 28405; 1112 East Cutler Crossing, Suite 100, Leland, NC 28451; 132 Racine Drive, Wilmington, NC 28403.

A national leader in fundraising, BRAX Ltd. will coordinate production of the $10 mugs, which will be sold until supplies last. “UNCW offers so many things to the Wilmington community, which is why it is important for us to rally behind the university and support their students and programs," said Pete Hexter of BRAX. “We are creating a unique opportunity for the public to get involved in that effort in a simple way."

Port City Java CEO Steve Schnitzler echoed Hexter’s vision of the partnership between UNCW, BRAX and Port City Java.

“Port City Java was pleased to open a location on UNCW's campus and this is just another way to show our support for the university and its student-athletes. The university is an important part of our community and culture and we are committed to doing everything we can to strengthen the bonds between our two great Wilmington institutions.”

The Seahawk Club strives to provide scholarships for approximately 360 student-athletes each year. In the past year, UNCW athletic teams have averaged a 3.12 GPA, have contributed 2,045 hours of community service and have achieved much athletic success.
