WILMINGTON, North Carolina – UNCW softball Head Coach Kristy Norton announced the 2014 schedule on Tuesday, a 56-game slate that features 31 home games, matchups with five teams that qualified for the NCAA Tournament and an 18-game Colonial Athletic Association slate.

The Seahawks open the 2014 campaign in the Charleston Southern Tournament, where they will face Maryland Eastern Shore, Elon and Charleston Southern during the two-day event (Feb. 7-8).

The home portion of the schedule gets underway the following weekend when UNCW hosts Liberty, Norfolk State and UMBC at newly-renovated Boseman Field for the Seahawk Invitational (February 14-16).

A return trip to the Palmetto State awaits the Seahawks after their home debut as they head to the capital city of Columbia to face Michigan State, Gardner-Webb, Georgetown and NCAA Tournament qualifier South Carolina in the Gamecock Invitational (February 21-23).

UNCW closes out February and begins the month of March with their final regular-season tournament, entertaining Bucknell, Brown and UNCG in the UNCW Beach Bash (February 28-March 2).
