WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Junior Sam Williams won the consolation finals of the A1 Singles bracket to highlight UNCW’s play on the final day of the Wake Forest Fall Invitational Sunday at the Wake Forest Tennis Center.

Williams, from Bristol, England, routed UNC Greensboro’s Ahmet Sarioglu, 6-0, 6-1, to give the Seahawks a boost on the final day of the three-day event.

In other action, senior Rafael Aita topped Wake’s Pedro Dumont, 6-3, 6-4, to capture third place in A2 Singles and sophomore Santtu Leskinen fell to Duke’s Cale Hammond, 6-4, 7-6 (3), in the B2 Singles championship.

Also, sophomore Christiaan Van der Burgh downed Iowa’s Chase Tomlins, 7-5, 6-3, for third place in C2 Singles and senior Matt Kealy outlasted Iowa’s Michael Swank, 6-4, 6-7 (5), 7-5, to nail down third place in D2 Singles.

In doubles action, Penn State’s Roman Trkulja and Matt Barry edged Leskinen and Zach Hublitz, 8-6, in the B Doubles title match.
