TALLAHASSEE, Florida - Junior Lori Beth Adams carded an even par 72 to lead UNCW in the second round of the FSU Match-Up Tournament Saturday at the Southwood Golf Course.

Playing under less than ideal conditions that featured howling winds and a mid-round rain storm, Adams moved into a tie for 20th place with her even-par round on Saturday that gave her a 36-hole total of seven-over 151 (79-72).

"Lori Beth had an excellent round today," said UNCW Head Coach Cindy Ho. "She was solid in every part of her game, especially her putting, finishing with 27 putts. Jeanne also played well and had no double bogeys, which plagued her on the first day."

Fellow junior Jeanne Metivier also turned in a solid round on Saturday, posting a three-over 75 to jump into a five-way for 42nd at 156 (81-75). Sophomore Mattie Tobey (80-78=158) is two shots back of Metivier in a tie for 51st while sophomore Mallory Warrick (83-82=165/60th) and junior Megan Burnham (87-84=171/63rd) completed UNCW's entry.

First-round leader Rocio Sanchez Lobato (66-74) of Georgia and Furman's Laura Wearn (69-71) are tied for the individual lead after 36 holes at four-under-par. Florida State's Jessica Negron is two strokes back of the duo in third with a two-under total of 142 (72-70).

UNCW combined for a team score of 307 on Saturday as it remained in 12th place with a two-day total of 630 (323-307), six shots back of 11th-place UNC Greensboro (314-310=624) and 14 strokes behind Michigan (304-312=616) and Kansas (310-306=616), who are tied in 10th place.

"I was pleased with how the team bounced back today, especially as the conditions were more difficult with the wind and cold today," said Ho. "The players were more comfortable out there today and everyone improved and executed better. We were competitive with a lot of schools today. We just need to keep improving with every round we play."

No. 6 Oklahoma shaved 14 strokes off its first-round score to take a six-shot lead over the field with a 36-hole scorecard of 582 (298-284). Host Florida State is in second with a 588 (295-293) total while first-round leader No. 16 Georgia (290-300=590) and No. 33 Tennessee (291-299=590) are eight shots off the pace in a tie for third.

In the unique Match-Up scoring portion of the event, which pairs teams and counts the four lowest scores plus the highest score, the Georgia-Oklahoma pairing holds a five shot lead over the FSU/Texas A&M grouping, 730-735, heading into the final round. Ten shots back at 745 is the Tennessee-UTSA, followed by Furman-Kansas at 748. The UNCW-UNCG pairing is sixth with a 783 total.

The final round of the FSU Match-up gets underway Sunday with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
