(This is the fourth in a series of capsules highlighting the successful 2011-12 sports season at UNCW) It was game, set, match for the men's tennis team after nailing down the program's first at-large entry into the NCAA Regionals this past spring. Coach Mait DuBois and his young team climbed to as high as No. 33 in the ITA rankings - its highest ranking ever. The team wound up with a 17-7 record and played in the CAA championship match for the third time in the last four years. The Seahawks recorded their highest win over a ranked opponent by knocking off N.C. State in early March and was ranked every week during the regular season for the first time. |
