WILMINGTON, North Carolina - Former UNCW men's tennis standout Brian Jackson has been named Director of Tennis at NCAA Division III member Pacific University in Forest Grove, Ore.

A graduate of Fred T. Foard High School in Newton, N.C., Jackson played four seasons for the Seahawks and former head coaches Larry Honeycutt and Allen Farfour from 1994-97. He served as team captain and was voted the team's most valuable player in 1996-97.

Jackson has coached the Pacific men's team the last five years and led the Boxers to a 13-6 overall record and 11-1 regular season finish in the Northwest Conference.

Jackson earned his undergraduate degree at UNCW and his doctorate in kinesiology at the University of Virginia, specializing in motor behavior and sport psychology.
