Release: 04/13/2012 WILMINGTON, North Carolina - Seniors Christina Lee and Casey Dashiell make their final appearance at the UNCW Tennis Complex today when the women's tennis team entertains state rival UNC Greensboro in the regular season home finale for the Seahawks. Coach Jenny Garrity's team, which has spent time in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings this season, climbing to as high as No. 67, carries a 13-6 record into the 2:30 p.m. match. UNCG is ranked 74th by the ITA and stands a robust 15-4. Lee, from Charlotte, N.C., has been an outstanding player over the last four seasons for the Seahawks, compiling a 62-19 singles record and 45-12 doubles mark. She became UNCW's inaugural First-Team All-CAA performer last season and ranks third all-time in singles victories behind Lindsay Leblang (74) and Lauren Isenhour (68). Dashiell, meanwhile, has also been a key contributor to the team's success story. The Norfolk, Va., netter owns a 28-8 singles record for third all-time in winning percentage at .778. She also stands 14-7 in doubles action. The Seahawks have won seven of their last eight matches and will try to keep that momentum heading into next week's CAA Championships in Norfolk, Va. |
