| Richardson, Spake Lead Seahawks To Swimming Sweep | ||||

The Seahawk men (7-1) ran their winning streak to seven straight, while the women ran their mark to 7-2. The Cougars fell to 1-3 on the men's side and 3-5 on the women's. UNCW posted a 156-124 win in the women's meet and a 157-125 victory in the men's.
Richardson helped the Lady Seahawks open the meet, swimming the second leg of the 400 Medley Relay that finished first with a time of 4:01.60. UNCW followed that winning performance with winning time of 3:29.58 by the men with Spake swimming the third leg of the relay.
Richardson added wins in the 100 (1:09.15) and the 200 Breaststrokes (2:27.45).
Spake keyed the Seahawks by winning the 200 Butterfly (1:56.60) and helping UNCW in the 400 IM with a top time of 4:10.79.
Also having solid afternoons for the Seahawks were sophomore Anna Munger and senior Pete Humphries. Munger swam on the 400 Medley Relay and later won the 200 Freestyle with a time of 1:58.69. Humphries, meanwhile, swam the leadoff leg of the 400 Medley Relay and captured the 200 Backstroke, posting a time of 1:56.94.
The Seahawks will take a break from dual meet competition next weekend when they visit Fairfax, Va., for the Patriot Invitational. The meet begins on Nov. 20 and concludes on Nov. 22.
