2009-10 Academic Honors

 

  • For the seventh consecutive year, the women's cross country team was designated as a United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Academic All-American Team.

  • Darion Jeralds, Daniel Mercer and Josh Sheets were named to the CAA's All-Academic Team in men's basketball.

  • Casey Sawhook and Greta Luksyte were selected to the CAA's All-Academic Team in women's basketball.

  • The women's golf team received a Public Recognition Award from the NCAA's Academic Performance Program by placing among the top 10 percent among teams nationally for its academic work.

  • The women's soccer team received the NSCAA's College Team Academic Award for the seventh consecutive season.

  • Twenty-one student-athletes achieved a perfect 4.00 grade point during the Fall semester and 25 reached the lofty goal for the Spring semester.

  • All of UNCW's 19 intercollegiate teams fi nished above the multi-year score of 925 in the NCAA's annual APR report.

  • Ashley Tait and Sofi a Hagsund were named to the National Golf Coaches Association All-Scholar Team.

  • Senior Kathleen Casto (women's track and field) and junior Kinshuk Sharma (men's tennis) were named CAA Scholar Athlete-of-the-Year for their respective sports.
