|Adams' Strong Finish Leads UNCW At LSU|
BATON ROUGE, Louisiana – Senior Lori Beth Adams posted a two-under-par 70 in the final round to claim a share of 13th place and lead UNCW as the LSU Tiger Golf Classic came to a close Saturday at The University Club.
Playing the final 36 holes of the event on Saturday due to the threat of inclement weather for Sunday, the Seahawks finished the tournament in 14th place with a 938 (315-318-305) tournament scorecard, 11 shots ahead of Louisiana-Monroe (317-312-320=949).
Adams posted her fourth round of par or lower this season with the two-under-par scorecard in the final round to end the tournament with a three-round result of eight-over-par 224 (74-80-70) and claim a share of 13th place. “As a team, we had a tough morning round as we ran into some holes that gave us trouble and resulted in a high team score,” said UNCW Head Coach Cindy Ho. “In the afternoon round, we bounced back and had a really good round that allowed us to shoot a good score on a really tough golf course. We still have a lot of work to do to be more consistent, but I saw a lot of great things in the last round, so I know that we have the potential to a really good team.”
No. 4 Arkansas claimed the team title with a tournament total of 882 (302-292-288), eight shots ahead of second-place UCF (303-299-288=890). Kentucky (302-298-299=899) finished third while host LSU (304-302-299=899) claimed fourth and first-round leader Purdue (297-305-304=906) ended up in fifth.

Purdue’s Aurora Kim, the individual leader after Friday’s opening round, finished four shots back of the trio in fourth (71-74-72=217)
