WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Saturday night’s scoreless first overtime period in UNCW’s thrilling 57-55 victory over the College of Charleston was unusual by most standards and merited additional in-depth research by national statistical guru Elias Sports Bureau.
According to the recognized authority on all things sports, the UNCW-CofC game represented the first scoreless overtime since Arkansas State and Tennessee-Martin featured a scoreless second overtime session in a triple overtime battle on Nov. 16, 2012.
UNCW plays its final home game of the season on Wednesday when CAA frontrunner Delaware visits for “Senior Night.” It will be the last home appearance for six seniors (Zack Allen, Chris Dixon, Ben Eblen, Marcus Graham, Tanner Milson, Shane Reybold) and two managers (Dan Larkin, Nick Wilson).
A special pre-game ceremony will be held at 6:40 p.m. at Trask Coliseum.
