WILMINGTON, North Carolina – UNCW head coach Dave Allen and his Seahawks open the spring semester with a women’s meet against North Florida today in Jacksonville, Fla. The meet begins at 4:30 p.m.

The Seahawks hope to build off a strong outing at the Patriot Invitational as they work towards the Colonial Athletic Association championships in late February. UNCW will also compete against NCAA Division II member Catawba in the meet.

Sophomore Jenson Engen ranks among the league’s top-10 in both the 100 and 200 Breaststrokes, checking in at third and fourth, respectively.

Junior Hannah Stephenson is the only other Seahawk to rank in the top 10 in two different events. She’s third in the 100 Backstroke and ninth in the 200.

Senior Rachel Sears rounds out UNCW’s representatives in the CAA top-10. Sears is eighth in the 50 Free.

UNF won last year’s edition of the series, taking a 129-109 decision. The Seahawks hold a 9-3 advantage in the all-time series.

The Seahawks return to CAA action on Jan. 11, when they visit College of Charleston.
