WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Junior Valtteri Halonen continued his award-filled season when the Colonial Athletic Association honored him as the co-swimmer-of-the-week following his standout performance at the Patriot Invitational.

Halonen hauled in four individual event wins and helped the Seahawks to a record-setting performance in the 400 Medley Relay with a meet record time of 3:21.78. He also helped the men’s team to a second-place finish by winning the 50 Freestyle, 100 Butterfly and 100 and 200 Backstrokes. His time of 49.81 was also a meet record.

For the Finland native, it’s the fourth time this semester that he’s been credited with at least a share of the weekly award.

Halonen is ranked 93rd nationally in the 200 Backstroke while the 400 Medley Relay is 57th.
