CHARLESTON, South CarolinaNicole Lott led the Seahawks with 11 kills and Morgan Kline added nine as UNCW fell to Northeastern, 3-0, in the second semifinal match of the Colonial Athletic Association volleyball tournament on Saturday at the North Charleston Convention Center.

The Huskies advance to Sunday’s finals against top-seeded College of Charleston with a 19-10 record. The Seahawks, meanwhile, conclude their season with a 20-10 mark.

UNCW extended the third and final set before falling 27-25. The third set saw 15 ties and nine lead changes as UNCW rallied to take a 24-23 led on a kill from Lott. The Huskies were able to tie it and eventually end the match on a block from Nicole Kurz and Janelle Tucker.

NU held a .242-.167 hitting advantage as Jamie Bredahl and Kelly Bacon combined for 22 kills and just four hitting errors. Bacon held match-high honors with 12 kills.

Kline hit .300 (9-0-30) for the Seahawks and added five digs. She finished the season with 480 serve attempts, setting a UNCW single season record.

Victoria Phillips doled out 15 assists to lead UNCW while Alyssa Desjardins had 14. Desjardins led UNCW defensively with 13 digs.

NU’s Natalia Skiba helped NU to a slim 55-54 lead in digs with a match-high 16.

At the net, Meredith Peacock totaled a match-high six blocks. Both teams battled to a stalemate, each with eight total blocks.
