WILMINGTON, North Carolina – The Seahawks head to Long Island this weekend for a Colonial Athletic Association game against Hofstra, who has won its last three outings. Kickoff on Saturday is set for 7 p.m.

UNCW carries a three-game unbeaten string into the match following a 2-1 win over Duke on Tuesday. The Seahawks won their CAA opener at Charleston, 1-0, and began the stretch with a 1-all tie against longtime rival Campbell.

Jamie Dell proved to be a dagger to the Blue Devils for the second straight season as he struck for the game-winner Tuesday in the 79th minute. Dell did so last season as UNCW upended Duke by an identical score of 2-1.

Hofstra, meanwhile, whipped Rutgers, 3-0, on Wednesday in Piscataway, N.J., to run its winning streak to three. The Pride, who will be playing its first CAA game of the season, also posted wins over Monmouth (2-1) and New Hampshire (1-0) during the streak.

The Pride owns a 7-3-2 advantage in the all-time series, including a 3-0-2 mark in Hempstead. The Seahawks edged the visiting Pride, 3-2, last season at the UNCW Soccer Stadium.

Following Saturday’s game, the Seahawks return to the Port City for a brief two-game homestand that opens with James Madison on Oct. 12 and concludes with Drexel on Oct. 16. Both games are conference matches with 7 p.m. starts.
