WILMINGTON, North Carolina – The Seahawks open the team practice portion of the fall on Monday looking to blend the veterans with the new blood as 11 rookies begin their careers at UNCW.

The Seahawks will play the Czech Republic national team on Oct. 8 at 6 p.m. at Brooks Field. It will be UNCW’s second game against a national team after hosting Team USA in September of 2011.

The annual Blue-Teal series opens on Oct. 18 at 6 p.m. Here is the complete schedule for the series, which is free to the public to come and watch the games. All games and times in the series are subject to change.

Annual Golf Tournament: The Fourth Friends of Seahawk Baseball Golf Classic, presented by Coastal Chemical and Paper, will take place on Oct. 19 at the Castle Bay Country Club. MiLB Seahawk Notes: Four former Seahawks played in minor league baseball playoffs this season. Stephen Harrold (San Jose), Andrew Cain (Augusta), Michael Marbry (Tulsa) and Josh Bonifay managed the Greeneville Astros to the Appalachian League championship series … Chris Hatcher led all of AAA with 33 saves for the New Orleans Zephyers and was promoted to the major leagues with the Miami Marlins on two occasions … Seth Frankoff was selected by the Oakland A’s to play in the prestigious Arizona Fall League … Frankoff becomes the sixth Seahawk to play in the league joining Bradley Holt, John Raynor, Michael Marbry, Stephen Harrold and Cody Stanley.
