CHARLOTTESVILLE, VirginiaCorey Dick and Matt Keeler collected three hits apiece and UNCW ended the game with a triple play as the Seahawks eliminated Army with a 9-5 win on Saturday at the NCAA Charlottesville Regional at Davenport Field.

The Seahawks advanced to Sunday and will face Elon at 1 p.m.

In the ninth, the Black Knights landed their first two hitters on base against reliever Christian MacDonald (5-1) before closer Kelly Secrest made his way into the game. Secrest fanned Jon Crucitti for the first out with the runners in motion. Catcher Drew Farber threw to Ryan LaGrange at third, who ran the lead runner back to second before tagging the trail runner for the second out. The lead runner then wandered off base and LaGrange turned and fired to Farber covering third. Farber then applied the tag to the lead runner for the final out of the triple play and ending the game.

MacDonald earned the win with one and 1/3 innings of shutout relief. Secrest earned his eighth save. UNCW starter Jordan Ramsey allowed two runs, one earned, in four and 2/3 innings before leaving with tightness in his arm.

The Seahawks jumped on starter Alex Robinett (7-4) for five runs on six hits in just an inning and 2/3. Reliever Gunnar Carroll surrendered four runs on six hits in two innings as UNCW built a 9-1 lead.

Dick belted his ninth homer of the season while adding a double. In two games at the regional, he has six hits. Keeler added a double and drove in two runs.

Mark McCants paced Army with two hits while Alex Jensen scored twice.

Up next: The Seahawks will play Elon on Sunday at 1 p.m.

How it happened: The Seahawks opened the game torrid at the plate, scoring three in the first on four hits and two more in the second. Tyler Molinaro had a pair of RBI singles and Luke Dunlap scored twice as the Seahawks broke out to a 5-1 lead.

Inside the numbers: UNCW placed 7-of-9 leadoff hitters on base and advanced runners in 14-of-28 opportunities … Matt Keeler and Tyler Molinaro both had two hits with RISP … UNCW went 6-for-14 with two outs … Army went hitless against Christian MacDonald (0-6) … The Black Knights did land their leadoff hitter on base in 5-of-9 innings.
