BLACKSBURG, Virginia - Hailey Blackburn captured her second straight 60 meter race and Jeremy Johnson added a win in the men's 60 meters to highlight UNCW's outing on Friday at the Virginia Tech Invitational. Also winning and setting a school record was the men's 4x800 Relay of Connor Brooks, Dylan Skinner, Tommy Schotzinger and Ryan O'Connor. The relay posted a record time of 7:39.74 to edge host Virginia Tech. Blackburn won both the preliminaries and finals with times of 7.53 and 7.57, respectively. In the 200 meters, Meena Reid placed second with a time of 24.50. Adding second place finishes for the Seahawks were Aerial Chatman in the Long Jump and Brad Hollowell in the Pole Vault. Chatman jumped 23-1.75 feet while Hollowell went 15-7. The Seahawks will conclude the meet and their indoor season on Saturday. |
