WILMINGTON, North Carolina - The UNCW men's tennis team closed out its fall invitational tournament Sunday with a sparkling 32-4 record over the three-day event at the UNCW courts.

The Seahawks wrapped up their fall schedule and don't play again until opening the spring season on Jan. 20 against visiting Troy.

Coach Mait DuBois and his team went 22-2 in singles and 10-2 in doubles against Boston College, Davidson and East Tennessee State. UNCW compiled a 4-0 record in doubles against ETSU on Sunday and 6-2 against Davidson in singles.

Junior Rafael Aita was named the winner of the singles title after going 3-0, including 2-0 at No. 1 singles and 1-0 at the No. 3 slot. The Lima, Peru, netter was also named the doubles winner with senior Chris Cooprider after the tandem went 3-0 at No. 1 doubles.

Aita, Cooprider and sophomore Sam Williams each went undefeated in singles and doubles on the weekend.

"This was a great way for us to close out the fall," said DuBois. "I was very pleased with our performance as a team. We got to see our players in a variety of different positions and they responded very well. We look forward to getting the team season started in the spring."
