CARY, North Carolina - UNCW seniors Chris Cooprider and Kosta Blank upset 15^th-ranked Chris Mengel and Fred Saba of Duke in the quarterfinals early Sunday and then won again to advance to Monday's main doubles draw final in the USTA/ITA Carolina Regional Championships at the Cary Tennis Park.

Cooprider and Blank trimmed Mengel and Saba, 8-4, and then edged Elon's Stefan Fortman and Cameron Silverman, 8-6, in the semifinals. Fortman and Silverman had upset 17^th-ranked David Hopkins and Amogh Prabhaker of Wake Forest earlier in the day.

Cooprider and Blank will battle 16^th-ranked Henrique Cunha and Raphael Hemmeier of Duke in the doubles final Monday at 10 a.m. The winner collects the automatic entry into the USTA/ITA National Indoor Championships Nov. 8-11 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y.
