WILMINGTON, North Carolina - UNCW returns to the pool this weekend for the first time since its season opener two weeks ago against nationally-ranked Tennessee when it takes on Richmond and Old Dominion in Norfolk.

The two-day dual meet begins on Friday at 4 p.m. The Seahawk women's team will swim against both UR and ODU while the men compete against ODU.

The Seahawks dropped both sides of the season-opening dual meet to the visiting Volunteers as UT combined to win 25 events on the afternoon.

UNCW won the men's 400 Medley and 400 Free Relays while senior Stephen Conrad captured first place in the 100 Butterfly with a time of 50.36.

In the 400 Medley Relay, the team of sophomores Valtteri Halonen and C.J. Fiala, Conrad and senior Michael Williams edged the Vols for the top spot with a time of 1:32.91.

UNCW then closed the meet with a win in the 400 Free relay when sophomore Nick Lowe, junior Gabe Thran, sophomore Alex Labonge and Williams clocked in at 3:07.95.

For the Seahawk women, freshman Jenson Engen won the 200 Breaststroke with a time of 2:22.96.

This will be the season-opener for Richmond, the reigning Atlantic 10 champions, and ODU. Last season, the Seahawks swept the Spiders and Monarchs on the women's side, but the men fell to ODU.

The Seahawks head to Emory next weekend as they continue a five-meet road stretch that carries into mid-November.
