Release: 10/07/2012 WILMINGTON, North Carolina - The UNCW women's golf team will tee it up for the first time in the Tar Heel State this season as it takes part in the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate this week at the Greenville Country Club in Greenville, N.C. The 54-hole, five-count-four event begins Monday at 8:30 a.m. with 36 holes on the par-72, 6,004-yard layout of the Greenville Country Club. Final round action is scheduled to begin Tuesday with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Live scoring for all three rounds will be available and can be accessed by clicking on the link at the top of the page. The Seahawks are one of 20 teams that will be competing in the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate as Augusta State, Boston College, Brown, Coastal Carolina, Elon, Georgia State, High Point, Longwood, Marshall, Maryland, UNC Greensboro, Old Dominion, Radford, Samford, Southern Mississippi, Western Carolina, William & Mary and Yale. Senior Danielle Lamy, juniors Lori Beth Adams, Laverry Kumar, Jeanne Metivier and freshman Johanna Bjoerk will be in the lineup for Head Coach Cindy Ho at the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate. Sophomore Mallory Warrick will compete in the tournament as an individual entry. Kumar, who finished tied for second at last year's edition of the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate, leads the team with a 74.50 stroke average. Adams is second with a 74.85 clip while Bjoerk is third with a 75.25 stroke average. UNCW closes out the fall portion of its 2012-13 schedule with The Landfall Tradition. The 11th edition of the annual event will take place Oct. 26-28 on the Country Club of Landfall's Jack Nickalus Course. |
