WILMINGTON, North
Carolina - UNCW senior forward Stephanie Rose was named to the Preseason All-CAA
Women's Soccer Team on Wednesday.
"The Colonial Athletic Association has many quality players and for Stephanie to be recognized in this group is special, said UNCW Head Coach Paul Cairney. "As with any individual recognition, our players know that what they accomplish is shared with team members." Rose, a native of Jacksonville, N.C., earned Third-Team All-CAA accolades last season after leading the Seahawks in scoring with 10 points on a team-high five goals. The three-time All-CAA selection enters her senior season with 48 career points (20 G, 8 A) and needs just six points to move into a tie for fourth place on the program's career scoring list (54). The Seahawks open the 2012 season this weekend at the Hilton Garden Inn Hokie Invitational in Blacksburg, Va. UNCW will square off against No. 22 Virginia Tech in its season opener on Friday before taking on No. 3 Wake Forest Sunday.
