PRINCETON, N.J. ? Senior John Carr finished second in the 200 Meters and fifth in the 100 Meters on Sunday to lead UNC Wilmington at the ECAC/IC4A Outdoor Championships in Princeton, N.J.
The Seahawk men finished tied for 11th in the IC4A Championship while the women placed in a tie for 26th.
Carr, who owns the school record in both the 100 and 200 Meters, fashioned a time of 21.46 in the 200 and earlier in the meet, he ran 10.61 and finished fifth in the 100.
Fellow senior Brandyn Mitchell added a fifth-place finish in the Long Jump with a mark of 24-6 1/4. Sophomore Justin Prevette finished 10th with a distance of 23-1 3/4.
On the women's side, senior Sarah Portee added a pair of top-10 finishes in the Long and Triple Jumps. Portee finished 10th in the Long Jump with a mark of 18-7 1/4 feet. She later finished sixth in the Triple Jump, jumping 39-6.
In relay action, the men finished fifth in the IC4A 4x400 Relay (3:12.66) while the women checked in at third in the 4x100 (46.33).
Next up for the Seahawks will be the NCAA East Regional on May 29-30 in Greensboro, N.C.
