|McLeod Leads UNCW At River Landing|
WALLACE, North Carolina – UNCW senior Payne McLeod fought off a tough second round to remain in the top-five at the River Landing Intercollegiate on Friday in Wallace, North Carolina.
McLeod opened his two-round day with a four-under-par 68, but as windy conditions grew at the course, he carded a three-over-par 75 in the second round and will enter Saturday’s final round just two strokes off the lead.
VCU’s Adam Ball owns the medalist lead after two rounds following a steady 70-71=141 on Friday.
VCU also holds the team lead by four strokes over East Carolina.
UNCW trails Campbell for sixth by two strokes.
