|Baseball Preview: UNC Chapel Hill|
WILMINGTON, North Carolina – UNCW returns to the road this evening when they head to Chapel Hill for a 6 p.m. start against nationally-ranked UNC Chapel Hill. The Tar Heels are UNCW’s third-ranked opponent this season.
The Seahawks (12-13) split their weekend series at James Madison after the third game was canceled due to inclement weather for the second straight season. The Dukes rallied for a 6-5 win in the opener, but UNCW earned a split with a 6-4 win in game two behind solid pitching from Jordan Ramsey and a four-hit afternoon from Dillon Bass.
The Tar Heels were swept by rival Duke over the weekend in Durham and have dropped their last six outings, including a 3-1 setback to Winthrop last week in non-conference play.
UNCW senior Christian MacDonald (1-2) will make his starting debut this evening while UNC will go with Zac Gallen (2-2).
Tonight’s game is being streamed via GoHeels.com and AM630 will also broadcast the game locally in Wilmington and will audio stream it as well. Links to all coverage are at the top of this page.
The Seahawks host Coastal Carolina on Wednesday at 6 p.m. before returning to conference play on the road at William & Mary this weekend. The series opens Friday at 7 p.m.
